Welcome to the IT Sligo Teaching and Learning Webinar Series

Hi everyone.  Welcome to the blog for the IT Sligo Teaching and Learning Webinar Series which starts on January 13th, 2010.  In these webinars you will be able to view presentations live on the Internet and ask questions of the presenters during or after the presentations

We will post details here of forthcoming webinars and recordings of these afterwards.  Feel free to use this blog as a forum for discussion before and after event.

These webinars will be broadcast openly on the Internet, but we have limited capacity so we will need you to register in order to get access instructions and so we can keep track of numbers.

These webinars will be given by presenters from IT Sligo and beyond.  Here are some of the topics that we will be webcasting:

Formal launch of Teaching and Learning Webinar Series,
Wednesday 13th January, 2010, 1.15pm - 2.30pm (GMT):

"Technology and large classes",

This will consist of two presentations:
  • "Technology for effective and timely feedback", Brian Coll, IT Sligo
  • "Learning to Thrive: Strategies for Saving Time Online",  Larry Ragan, Penn State University
The series will continue with weekly webinars every Wednesday from 1.15pm to 2pm.  Delow is a list of topics that are planned.  Dates may change so make sure to subscribe to this blog for the latest news.
We are still recruiting speakers from outside IT Sligo and outside Ireland, so if you know of anyone (including yourself) that might have a topic suitable for webcasting, please email your suggestion to, mulligan.brian@itsligo.ie

Please feel free to share your thoughts on this initiative publicly by submitting comments below.
